The Nicholas Murrell Memorial Cup is able to offer you great post-season play on some of the best fields in the local area while your teams are still at their peak. In previous years teams have come from VA, NC, WV, DE, MD, PA, NJ, NY, MA and DC to compete together. This year we will be offering both Travel and Advanced brackets. This is a terrific end of season tournament for both advanced and travel teams!

A payment for the appropriate application fee MUST BE IN THE HANDS OF THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR BY FEBRUARY 15th 2015. Teams needing early acceptance for flight and travel plans should request such to firstname.lastname@example.org. All efforts will be made to reply ASAP.
Teams desiring to attend the 1st Annual Nicholas Murrell Memorial Cup (18th year ODSC has hosted a tournament) MUST complete and submit the online application. Faxed or mailed copies will NOT be accepted. Any questions should be directed to the Tournament Committee at email@example.com.
The tournament makes every effort to accommodate teams with coaching conflicts (multiple teams) – please make sure you indicate this in the “Additional Information” section of the online application notes.
THE GAME AND TOURNAMENT INFORMATION IN THE TEAM RECORDS SECTION MUST BE COMPLETED. FAILURE TO COMPLETE THIS SECTION MAY RESULT IN YOUR TEAM NOT BEING ACCEPTED. THIS INFORMATION IS NEEDED TO HELP SEED YOUR TEAM IN THE PROPER FLIGHT. PLEASE PROVIDE AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE.

Official notification of acceptance and non-acceptance will be e-mailed and placed on the website at www.olddominionsc.org/tournaments no later than February 7th 2015. Those teams not accepted will have their entry fee returned. Should a non-accepted team later be granted entry into the tournament, the team will be required to resubmit the tournament entry fee.
Age Groups & Competition Levels:
The Old Dominion Cup is an unrestricted tournament sanctioned through the Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA). The tournament offers both Premier and Classic flights for boys and girls teams from U9 – U19, as well as an Advanced Bracket. The Old Dominion Cup offers small-sided competition for age groups U9 - U12. U9 - U10 teams play 7v7 and U11 - U12 teams play 8v8. There is no U12 11v11 format. The number of teams accepted, the number of flights, and the placement of teams amongst flights will be at the discretion of the tournament committee. Teams playing in Virginia Soccer league or other Club Soccer should register for Travel Bracket. Recreation or Advanced teams should register for Advanced Bracket, unless you request approval from tournament director to be placed in the premier or classic bracket.
U18/19 teams needing accommodations for SAT’s: U18/19 teams taking SAT’s will be given a later start time (1:00 pm) and may play a "college showcase" format depending on the number of teams with players taking SAT’s. This format would be one game on Saturday afternoon and two games on Sunday. There would be no finals. Please note any SAT accomodations needed in the “Additional Information” section of your online application.
Team Participation / Roster Size:
U9-U10 play 7v7 and may enter with a maximum of 14 players. U11 and U12 play 8v8 and may enter with a maximum of 14 players. U13-U15 may enter with a maximum of 18 players. U16 through U19 teams may enter with a maximum of 22 players and dress 18 players for game(s). At registration teams must present proof of affiliation and permission to travel (if applicable). Each team must be registered with a National State Association affiliated with the USYS/USSF or national equivalent and must present a valid State or Provincial roster. CURRENT, DULY AUTHORIZED MEMBER PASSES, MEDICAL RELEASE FORMS AND OFFICIAL STATE APPROVED ROSTERS are required for all players participating in the tournament. All Team Officials must have Valid Member Passes.
Note to Region I teams: Region One teams with the exception of New Jersey and Connecticut do not require a permission to travel form but must have proof of online notification with their State Association. EXCEPTION: USYS Connecticut and New Jersey teams must provide permission to travel.
U9 – U19 Teams = 5 guest players allowed (included in maximum roster size)
Team and Coach Awards will be presented to champions and finalists for all levels of competition. And following a tradition honoring the Rose Family of Virginia Beach, all girls’ champions will receive roses. All teams, especially U9-U15 teams, are encouraged to participate in a patch or pin exchange at the conclusion of each match.
Teams needing special arrangements for registration (Saturday) should email firstname.lastname@example.org. Credentials will be checked (player cards, official roster, medical releases, permission to travel if required, etc.). Credentials will not be checked at the fields during the tournament, but must be available if requested by referees or tournament staff.
Team Contact Information:
Each team, upon checking in at registration, must sign a ledger sheet giving the hotel where the team is staying, the room number of a team contact, the team’s coach or the team’s assistant coach so that these individuals may be contacted if needed.
Club Multiple Team Discount:
Tournament teams using our housing service with multiple teams (5 or more) should inquire about discounted entry fees. The hotel policy below applies. Your team will be issued the credit during tournament check-in. E-mail email@example.com for information.

Neither the Tournament Committee, ODSC, our Hotel Service, nor the Tournament Sponsors are responsible for any expenses incurred by any team in the event the tournament is cancelled in whole or part, or in the event games are discontinued or cancelled due to inclement weather or adverse field conditions, nor will any refunds be made. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to decide all matters pertaining to the tournament. The judgment of the Tournament Committee is final. The Tournament Director has authority to make all decisions and these decisions will be final. All referee decisions are final and binding.
