ODSC sponsors U10-U19 travel teams and players, both boys and girls. While the Board of Directors manages the day-to-day affairs of the organization, major decisions are voted on by the organizational members – each team has a vote!
ODSC believes in keeping travel soccer affordable. All club level administrative functions are performed by volunteers. Major overhead expenses, like renting office space, that typically have to be passed on to players are eliminated as much as possible.
ODSC puts a lot of emphasis on developing teams and its respective players. A significant portion of the player registration dues are invested in:
- Procuring professional, club-level training staff.
- Reimbursing coaches for procuring licenses and professional membership dues.
- Team training funds to supplement club-level programs.
- Procuring practice sites, including lighted fields, for teams to train on.
ODSC teams retain autonomy over decisions directly impacting their team. This means:
- Players can tryout for a specific team.
- Teams choose their players.
- Teams choose the tournaments that they wish to participate in.
- Teams decides their training schedules and location.
- Teams decides whether to pay their coaching staff and how much (though most of our coaches are volunteers!).
ODSC believes we charge the lowest per player registration fee in the area - (parent coaches receive a $80.00 discount limited to one child per team).
Please note that individual team budgets will vary. In addition to the per player registration dues, each team will have to pay league dues, a cost determined by Virginia Soccer League Inc (VSLI) prior to start of each season (The amount varies by age group and whether fall versus spring season). Additional expenses apportioned to each player as determined by individual teams may include tournament entry fees, coaches’ compensation and/or expense reimbursements and other incidentals like the purchase of ODSC patches (typically exchanged during tournament play).
Each player will also be required to purchase a uniform package, at a cost of $105.00:

- Xara White w/Navy Blue Cool-X Socks
- Two (2) Grey Training T-Shirts
Note that uniform packages are typically valid for a two-year cycle and that some teams also purchase warm-ups or other optional components.
